Philippine Straus Woolley (1861-1942)

Philippine (“Sabine” or “Binchen”) Straus, daughter of Michael Straus and Rose, née Goetz, of Kaiserslautern, Germany, married Adam Sedgwick Woolley in South Africa in 1890. Adam’s father, Joseph Woolley, was founder of the Royal School of Naval Architecture in 1864. Joseph’s nephew, Charles Webster Rede Gell-Woolley, married Edith Blanche Attfield in 1894.
